Amél (Carter Hansen) grew up in a deeply musical environment. His father owned a high-end audio company, making music an integral part of his life from an early age. Following in the footsteps of his older sister, Amél began playing the violin at just nine years old. Although he spent many years performing in school ensembles and orchestras, a professional career in music was never part of his plan.

That changed in 2016, when he was introduced to the music of Alan Walker. Captivated by the clean, emotional power of EDM, Amél became curious about how electronic music was created. During a trip to Spain in 2018, he learned of Avicii’s passing — a moment that became the final push for him to pursue music production seriously. Upon returning home, Amél downloaded FL Studio and spent hundreds of hours teaching himself the software, creating melodies whenever inspiration struck, alongside his close friend C The Third.

A major turning point came in 2022, when Amél caught the attention of EDM icon Afrojack. This recognition led to a defining milestone: his first collaboration with Afrojack immediately became a high-profile release — “Our Time”, a joint collaboration with David Guetta and Martin Garrix.

Following this breakthrough, Amél went on to write and produce multiple records for Afrojack, including “Never Forget You”, “In My World”, and “Rivers”. These releases received extensive radio support and entered national charts, further solidifying his position as a rising force in electronic music.
